Meet the cast of Alive & Kicking's forth coming production of
Santa and the Christmas Dragon
 
Martin Riley
Santa, writer, production director

Martin’s writing career spans theatre, television and opera. Stage works include The Canterbury Tales, Oxford University Press, House of The Gods and Captain Blood’s Revenge with Lynne Plowman, The Opera Fox with Joe Cutler (all British Composers & Songwriters Award nominated) ), Gwyneth & The Green Knight (BC&S winner), The Burning of the Boats and The Weight with David Burridge, Killing Cousins and Close Shave for The Workhouse Kids for W.N.O and Death’s Cabaret, Tommy Foggo Superhero and The Rattler for Mahogany Opera with Stephen Deazley. TV credits include Grange Hill and Emmerdale and his own series: Gruey, Kevin’s Cousins, (R.T.S nominated) and The Worst Witch (BAFTA nominated).
Martin is co-director of Alive & Kicking Theatre Leeds.
 
Sally Ann Staunton
Scary Fairy, musician

Sally Ann’s theatre work includes Girl of Ink and Stars for Spark Art, The Gruffalo’s Child for Tall Stories Theatre Company, Peter Pan at Derby Theatre, Harold and Maude Precious Bane, Spit Nolan and This Land for Interplay Theatre, Rugby Songs for Slung Low Theatre, The Boy Who Cried Wolf and The Ugly Duckling for Tutti Frutti TC, Hell and High Water for Mikron TC, Sporting Chance for Quickfoot Theatre. Other credits include Salsa Saved the Girls, Monday Mix-Up and Our Town Story.
Sally Ann’s television credits include The Flood Part 3, Emmerdale, Kris Baya Ain’t the Same, Mind the Gap for Sky TV, she has also appeared in Small Encounters for UCI Cinema and Switched On for BBC Blast
Sally Ann was a member of the National Youth Theatre in Much Ado About Nothing, God Save the Teen and Final Farewell.
 
Luke Dickson
Tricksy Pixie, stage director, magician

Luke’s theatre work includes: Red Ladder Theatre Company; Damned United and Mother Courage And Her Children. Theatre Company Blah Blah Blah; Hide and Seek, Raft of the Medusa, Frankie and Johnny, Reunion and Pianoman. Tell Tale Hearts; A Story For All Seasons and Rumplestiltskin. Plane Performance; Three Degrees of Frost, SET and Calling Rachmaninoff. Faceless; Conference of the Birds, Puppet Café and Land Ho.
Screen credits include Cold Feet, a feature film The Spell and short films A Serious Boy and Lucky. Luke also has a number of voice-over credits. He has produced his own shows as Luke Dickson Theatre Company; Naked Circus, Like A Book and The Great Dixoni.
Luke has been Co-Creative Director for Alive and Kicking Theatre Company since 2010.
